Nosferatu 2024
No spoilerinos, but it’s very obvious that this movie was made by people with love for the original silent film and the Herzog remake. Incredible cinematography (especially around the castle scene towards the start of the film). Leaned heavily into that German expressionist style, which obviously works well. There are some nods to the earlier films, but it never went into Epic Reference territory. Surprisingly horny at points.
I highly recommend watching this one in theatres, I would see this again.
(This movie caused a couple on a date to walk out the theatre I was in.)

Megalopolis 2024
The acting is strongly reminiscent of live theatre. Half brilliant, half completely indiscernible. Very much a Movie movie, they don’t really make them like this anymore (for good reason)
Watching it in the cinema is a must, so much of the film’s themes and essence are built around spectacle and grandeur, I don’t believe it will translate well enough to the small screen.
