good old camp, playful, horny, silly, melodramatic entertainment (thank you national 5 drama in a catholic school for introducing me to this treasure!!)
this adaption was so fun and immediately made me want to do this play again!! the acting, the costumes, the direction - all unreal!! even though I loved every single casting choice in this, ronkẹ adékoluẹjo gave the standout performance for me!! her gwendolen stole every scene in the best possible way!! I love live theatre so much!!

been excited for this one for a while and was nervous it wouldn’t live up to my expectations, but I really didn’t need to be. definitely one of my top films of 2024!! beautifully shot from start to finish, didn’t feel too long (which is rare for me to say when a film is over 2 hours) and mikey madison stole every scene in the best possible way!! this was also way funnier than I was expecting it to be. the casual homophobia was a bit of a jump scare though, the f slur was wildly overused
