  Found this from looking up "lesbian" on Criterion. Much more fun than I expected it to be, deserves more love. Favorite part: the "painting" obstructed, represented as a square of white light, what even is good art anyways. Reminiscent in a strange way of EILEEN (losers, older successful beautiful women, structured around a mysterious event of the past. Someone should write an essay on it one day. )

  My favorite part of growing up in Brooklyn was (and is) the scavenging, items on peoples stoops, lining the sidewalks (this past week, the complete twilight collection, an ACT prep book, a green silk dress). I stop every time just to see, even if I know there's nothing I could possibly want, because maybe there might be. This movie has been on my watchlist for years, maybe it was one of the first I added, but I guess I've been away from home too long to remember the value of everything that's been left behind, to finally sit down and watch it.
