  Don't be misled by the gung-ho marketing of this film, this is not a mindless shoot'em up. Rather it's an intelligent docudrama about the Iranian Embassy seige in London 1980. An excellent evocation of the period and full of good performances.

  What a disappointment. Excepting one brilliant moment early on this is a flat, un-engaging, and resolutely stage bound film adaptation. The main leads, who can do Shakespeare, are not give the opportunity to develop their characters. The minimalist set design while striking is distracting as none of the actors are able to fill the cavernous spaces around them. It kept reminding me of previous adaptations by Welles, Kurosawa, and Polanski, and with each comparison this very comes as distant second.
