Despite it being years since Avatar, Avatar 2 still stuns as a visual masterpiece 13 years later. With Jake and Neytiri owning these new roles as parents, you see so much more of the way these two connect and their perspectives as parents. As an Asian American, I identify with the need to see more Asian American stories hitting mainstream U.S media. This story was an excellent and flawless representation of Asian families and the many struggles they go through as immigrants including generational gaps, traditional mindsets, and the struggle of understanding what your purpose is. It truly is everything everywhere due to it’s almost crackhead nature with so many various elements and genres that at first thought sounds completely messy. It’s very rare that Korean cinema makes it on the radar of the U.S. let alone on a global level. This film was a great commentary on class and wealth and social inequality that many people and families face. This suspenseful and dramatic film consisted of so many great performances that capture your attention throughout. Especially, Choi Woo Sik and Park So Dam, both amazing Kdrama actors. Definitely a great film if you need an introduction to Korean cinema.
