Saving Private Ryan
This film is an immense, intense and brutal experience. Yet it manages to bring with this a genuinely amazing amount of characterisation and simply fantastic development among a group of individuals who felt like people. With their own families, stories, personalities and character (Where these weren’t shown the characters spoke for themselves). This fact caused every moment of the film to feel and gut wrenchingly rough to watch at many points.
