Maire, and Irish-American filmmaker and her assistant Cáit, an Irish academic travel to a rural island to follow the story of the Irish pirate Granuaille for a documentary. As their relationship develops, myth and reality merge.

The relationship is so complex and merges many lines, being cared for an caring, being colleagues and friends, being in support and in opposition, Foreman manages to avoid the typical replacement mother-daughter trope.

I thought the way the movie discussed the relationship between myth…

A classic of Arabic Cinema. Qinawi, a disabled newspaper seller in Cairo station, becomes obsessed with the confident and vivacious Hanuma. Her teasing, rejection and love for another man turn him into what we would call an incel. Tense and moody, with bouts of levity, it has Hitchcock energy with more of an eye on social issues.

Im not sure if I’m starting to Stockholm syndrome myself into liking these movies but I actually vaguely enjoyed watching this.

Jacob (a 17 year old boy mind you) continues to look like an Abercrombie Fitch model that is getting IV pumped with protein powder. I don’t know what acting school Taylor Laurent went to but whoever taught him acting was just furrowing your brows and taking off your shirt did the world a service.

    Bella’s “I’m so special but…

    The Twilight Saga: New Moon

    ★½

Somehow worse than the first one, the dialogue is so awful and the relationship dynamics are somehow more toxic.

Bella continues to have the personality of soggy cardboard, it's laughable that Taylor Lautner is supposed to be 16 in this he looks like he runs a lumber mill, and Pattinson looks like he's always slightly in pain, which I understand, I would be too if I had to say the things he said in this movie.

The most endearing character is Casper, but only because he's constantly trying not to kill everyone... and his resting face is 'about to cum' coded.
