Le Comte de Monte-Cristo 1979
It's, to me, the best filmed version of Le Comte de Monte-Cristo.
It's the most touching, the most moving. It's also the most convincing. I completely forgot about it being fictional.
I would've rated 5 stars, but it obviously got old, so the aesthetic isn't the best.
If you liked the book, I highly recommend it. They kept the original text, which is why it is so long, but it's really worth taking the time to watch it. Keeping Dumas' words and phrases makes the film just right.
