  This was a well crafted film that felt like a love letter to peak 90s thrillers. I’m glad I ignored a lot of the hyperbolic early reviews and went in as blind as possible. I didn’t find this horrifying but it was tense as hell. It’s a slow burn, but every scene has intent. No time or character is wasted. Everyone turned out an incredible performance, especially Nic Cage.

  Aside from a clunky first act that felt slightly juvenile, this was great. It stayed true to the spirit of the comic and the 1994 film while still doing its own thing. The violence was GROSS and the story was beautifully sad. Enya on the soundtrack was a weird but appreciated choice
