Convinced nothing looks better than 16mm film blown up to 35. The grain and the texture of the film adds so much to the image. I forgot how good Tom Cruise is outside of playing Ethan Hunt. The charisma and assuredness of his acting really seeps into his character here. Jamie Foxx also does so well here too. The interplay between them is just gold the whole time

Blackest movie by a white person I’ve ever seen. Leigh’s methods allow for such rich development of world and character that experience can be translated so well with his actors. A movie so relentless in its compassion for grief and loss while also being able to find humor in tragedy. Some of the best acting I’ve seen for a film as well. Marianne Jean-Baptiste and Michele Austin are a perfect pairing  and he read of the cast does a fantastic job as well. So glad I got to see this
