I get around to watching this film probably once every 1-2 years and wow it shakes me in my boots every damn time. PTA top 3 film for sure. Paul Dano at his best, Daniel Day-Lewis also at a career high though arguably better in Phantom Thread. Whatever this case, DDL proves time after time he is likely the greatest of all time: at least he defends his case meticulously. Riveting, just pure incredible experience, perfectly shot and so so tasteful. Sound and length of shots complete the hypnotical element of the film. Yes, a bit of a mindfuck, but I think upon second watch things should get clearer. Tip top form from Kurosawa! Shocking and impactful film for me. Top 15 potentially top 10.

I won't write a review about this lousy film here. Half-star only for a few good shots. Happy to discuss in person. I mean wow I didn't think people would make a film like this. Feel very sorry for the Catholic church and its people. What a disingenuous, false depiction of one of the most mystical and spiritual traditions in Catholicism, Italy and the world. Haven't been this disappointed in a film I think ever.

An excellent film shot perfectly. What a collection of characters and depiction of Korean town, secrets, realities and emotions running through it. Escapes the cliche of the detective genre in a way that puts it at the top of the genre in my opinion. What a gripping film. Last shot is just great...did not clock that the based on true story film was made before the killer was caught. All around phenomenal film.
