The Holdovers 2023
What a great film and wow did it make me appreciate any mentors I’ve had in my life. Having someone you fundamentally don’t agree with that can still look out for your well being is a story to be told. We could all do better to treat our neighbors with a little bit of care not malice. Look out for eachother and consider other’s situation more.

Predator 1987
80s action at its peak dare I say more. Yes it’s cheese and I’m here to toss it with some noodles on a Saturday night. It’s gory and delivers potentially the best monster reveal in all of cinema. Not to mention Arnold is looking like an absolute tank. The movie bleeds testosterone, with a decent setup for sequels. It’s too nostalgic and I’m rating it knowing its purpose is to hit that machismo nostalgia.

Alien: Romulus 2024
Was a miss in my opinion, I already wasn’t expecting much from a movie with 6 other installments. I did expect the terror elements to be somewhat different and newt though. Kinda just felt like same old situations even down to the AI synthetic. Production design was beautiful however and a good homage to original design. Absolutely gorgeous film. I almost forgot to mention the spectacular sound design throughout the film.

I loved the creative energy that radiates from this film. It deal with themes that I was not expecting to confront upon first viewing. I only had seen a little bit of the trailers and included in that were montages of the action sequences this along with being released at the same time as “Doctor strange: multiverse of madness” made me perceive this film as an action thriller.
