  JFC Non-Mandatory Mandatory Film School 2021

  FUUUUCCCK I've been missing out on this one!! This movie embodies the 80s Amblin ethos of "kids at the center of a fun genre film that takes itself and its characters seriously" in a way that feels modern and not slavishly beholden to its predecessors. I wish modern sci-fi blockbusters had this level of passion put into them.
