  Jack Nicholson and Shelly Duvall give two of my all time favorite performances ever. Neither could've worked without the other. The Shining grabs you and doesn't let go for its entire run time.

  The Last Samurai is the most biased I will ever be towards a movie. I fucking love The Last Samurai. Favorite Tom Cruise movie, my favorite Ken Watanabe movie, and maybe the best Samurai movie of the 21st century. Fulfills every white guy's fantasy about becoming a Samurai. Amazing ending, awesome use of extras giving a real sense of scale, incredible costumes, and beautiful scenery that makes me want to live in the Japanese countryside, Ken Watanabe has a lot of screentime. Amazing.
