Not sure I understood things the way I should’ve when I first watched this back in 2021 but I definitely had a different experience this time around. The visuals in this are so freaking good especially the little cutouts, I loved how they used the legend of candyman and spun it also using real life stories of black men being wrongfully killed and accused, the ending using the puppets were so captivating, and seeing Tony Todd at the end got me a little emotional.

every characters lack of urgency was frustrating to say the least and I feel a lot of things were preventable but we need dumb characters to make dumb decisions to help the story along 🤷♀️ other than that I did enjoy ray nicholson’s performance, maybe because he looks so much like his daddy and I just see jack torrence idk.
