Very Wes Anderson core. It’s short and dense, but explores the boundaries of cast utilization, dialog, narration, set design, and story structure. This film is absolutely not for everyone, but it treads on fairly fresh ground in modern film.
I will admit I have a bias towards Roald Dahl’s works. I’m also not really a fan of Bidet Cumbersnatch (despite performing relatively well here); but Dev Patel and Richard Ayoade make everything better, as always.
