Flow 2024
Like the idea and first half an hour is really great. Didn't think it needed more and more characters being added and it just became a bit stale for me. I wish I could see a dialogue free animated film where it just follows one solitary character and how they manoeuvre through their world. I kind of naively hoped both this and The Wild Robot would be that film, but I don't know if that film will ever be made.

Memoir of a Snail 2024
The mixture of balancing humor with just general misery is pulled off really well, and its complimented by the claymation. It looks childlike (characters are rendered quite simply), but its not childlike, claymatian doesn't take itself too seriously and this helps this world feel believable and the regularity of darker moments land: The characters take a beating and the pacing just jumps to the next beating . This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I enjoyed the experience of watching this film, but I did not enjoy the film. Switching from the immense boredom of the old Paris, to the hilarity of a Louie Lowinsky instagram story is something I never foresaw, and doubt will be replicated. The film is so unambitious with its shots and dialogue in the old Paris bits though that its unforgivable for me to give this higher than 2.5 stars.
