Left me wanting more of Santa’s back story. You don’t pull out candy cane nunchucks (while everyone else is fighting aliens with wrapping paper and ribbons) without an origin story.

Someone started Christmas with the Kranks at Thanksgiving, and today I was thinking what was that even about? If feels like a writer decided to mashup A Christmas Vacation with a Christmas Carol, and wow it's all over the place.
As a comedy about Christmas I guess there isn't much to expect, but what a wild ride. Luther, as Clark/Scrooge, wants an actual vacation from Christmas--and because he doesn't value his community or family--he just wants to escape it all…

No Country for Old Men 2007
One of the things that makes Javier Bardem's performance so unnerving is that he is not just a hit man, he's also a serial killer. While this can't possibly be the first time such a character has been portrayed, it sure does feel original in the context of this film.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2014
I've never enjoyed a superhero movie more than this. While a superhero's abilities often separate him/her from the average person, this film makes the superheroes into a type of everyman. They are more easy to relate to than characters such as Superman or even Captain America.
The casting, the special effects, the writing, the tone, everything about this film worked extremely well. I would definitely recommend this to friends--even if they are not into science fiction or superheroes.
