A shitshow that tries to tell something about fatherhood, masculinity and inter generational trauma supported by cheap jump scares and unnecessary explicit gorey scenes. Fails horribly at everything. Wonder if it is a bad adaptation of the tale or it is this bad from origin.

Memoir of a Snail 2024
Nice stop motion animation. Story develops giving you hints on what’s coming which makes it predictable and less impactful. For whatever reason I couldn’t feel anything for the protagonist and the end makes it feel like a Disney movie (/pejorative). It would have worked better without the voice over with the audience just watching the story developing. The scenes with nude puppets made me extremely uncomfortable because they don’t feel justified.
Edit: people defending the feederism kinkster and using the cheap excuse of fatphobia are insane, the mental gymnastics to excuse something done without consent or claim it is not as bad is disgusting.
