For a film so slow-paced, I was amazed at how hooked I was. The story was engaging, and I was so curious. It strung me along successfully. It showed me that fast-paced, in-your-face story-telling is not the only way to engage an audience: character and story rule all.

I also felt that the film was somewhat emotionally monochromatic, and as mentioned, slow.

I love this film. It fits in a unique category as a thriller that is also deeply inspirational. I love the powerful dissonance within the main character as his values collide.

The film does a great job of keeping tension throughout while allowing room for lighthearted moments and deep connection to - and between -the characters.

Incredible acting masterclass by Denzel, as always.

Its only downside is that it is didactic and political, and only discusses one side of the issue. But it was a great movie so who cares! :)
