Why is Gugu not a bigger star? Genuinely? The real chemistry is between her and Minnie Driver as the dysfunctional mother/daughter team. The last third drags, and it's hard to know when the flirtation turns to an actual romance other than how she kidnaps him to go on a private plane even tho he's scared of flying and has sex with him to make it ok during takeoff, which would have me throwing bricks if the genders were flipped.

Stir of Echoes 1999
Massively underrated because it came out in the year of our lord 1999, one of the best years for movies ever. It holds up fairly well, there are some lovely twists, and the cinematography is surprisingly fancy for a thriller. Yay Logan Square!
