Dead Poets Society 1989
the relationship between the boys and how they supported each other, really just wanting to see one another grow was so beautiful and made it all the more heartbreaking at the end. i loved robin williams acting in this. he truly did such an incredible job at showing the characters the importance of thinking for yourself and making the most of every day and of life. just a beautiful film with a beautiful message. i rarely cry during movies but i did tear up watching this.

i read this book in like 5th grade but i never watched the movie until now. i remember not really liking the book because it was kinda boring and i hated the end. the was somehow as bad if not worse than the book. i hate both the main characters even though i do understand that’s the point, since it’s supposed to be a satire of a manic pixie girl and the guy who wants the manic pixie girl, but even then…….no. just no.

wow. natalie portman’s performance was absolutely incredible, i completely understand why she won an oscar for this role. usually when there’s a film that has a lot of hype behind it i let the expectations get to me and i get let down. but wow this film truly met and even blew those expectations out of the water. such a disturbing but beautiful performance from natalie. she perfectly captured the innocence of how everyone perceived her as this delicate person…
