  Scorsese's masterpiece-undoubtedly his best. He absorbed the complexity of the Nouvelle Vague and deliveres this study in cinematography. He gave it his all, and he succeeded. Scorsese understood that LaMota's story was ono worth telling, one to learn from.
  Far from being a sexist, homophobic, or racist film, it serves as a critique of the character. This id made evident in its brilliant finale.

  Robert De Niro is brilliant. He made me hate more LaMotta.
