Godzilla: King of the Monsters 2019
Yikes. The 2014 Godzilla was a mess of uninteresting, bland characters mixed with not enough big monsters doing cool things. Rather than learning why the first film didn’t work, Godzilla: Where Are the Monsters doubles down on even worse human characters. 90% of the best monster moments were in the trailers. And we just keep cutting away from cool monster moments to go back to awful characters. Script is bad. Plot is bad. This is just a garbage sequel to a garbage movie.

What a fantastic movie. Very satisfying continuation of the Unbreakable/Split shared universe. Had me hooked the entire time, and even my small criticisms can be explained away by the film’s logic. I honestly don’t understand how critics could be so off-base on this one. Ignore them and go see this!
