Glass Onion 2022
While I did enjoy this, and thought it was a decent NYE watch all in all, the start (oh, aren’t celebrities the worst!) and the end (a bit meh) made for a bit of a bittersweet watch.
The middle hour and a half was really good. Some small twists, good acting and Daniel Craig clearly having a great time.
The problem is that the original was so good, each character had more to them than the ‘god, aren’t they awful…

Was really excited to watch this, thought it had the potential to be both funny and powerful. Turns out it was neither.
I love Adam McKay, but this is a ham-fisted approach at satire and while it may be purposely on the nose, that doesn’t absolve the writing from being god-awful.

Skate Kitchen 2018
I loved this movie. The story was great, the characters and actors were great (especially considering they were skaters) but the best thing was the camera work, the cinematograph and the music. This all created a fucking good vibe.
Not a movie that’s scared to take it slow occasionally. Well, well worth a watch.
