Agh. I wanted to like this movie as a ghibli underdog but idk. It was a simple story which I normally enjoy but it was just kind of boring. The twist was weird and unsettling. I had a hard time connecting the dots of several of the motifs. Maybe I missed something but some aspects of the story just seemed random. Overall, the movie was boring, unoriginal, and occasionally strange due to its lack of focus.
