I used to always say people who like James Joyce were lying to seem intelligent. I felt the same for people who said they enjoyed Gummo. Both is usually said by an insufferable bloke you meet on a night out. So it humoured me to hear Korine was inspired by Joyce’s writing to make this flick.

For me this movie sits in a Venn diagram somewhere between a Joyce novel and a jackass movie. A hard watch while eating. But I thoroughly enjoyed this and will come back to revisit. So I eat my hat.

Empathetic, uplifting and imaginative. Mike Skinner soundtracks the intro, setting the tone for a British movie on youth. The child actor is spectacular.

Brilliant documentary. None of the standard cliches were so used to seeing in formulaic Netflix documentaries; no interviewee sitting Infront of a camera, name in lower third, being self indulgent about a bygone time.

This film actually adds to the lore of these amazing bands and expertly captures a time and a feeling that surrounded the early 2000s.

I was only a kid but it really makes me miss hipsters.
