Brilliant satire, anchored by the terrific performances of Sterling Hayden and George C. Scott, ironic that the only clunker performance/character is Peter Sellers as Dr. Strangelove, and way ahead of its time in warning us that some high-ranking lunatic would start World War III because our bodily fluids were being poisoned by fluoridated water
Clark Gable and William Powell are solid, and Myrna Loy steals every scene she’s in, but we couldn’t make sense of the title until a tidal wave of melodrama hit this movie in its last fifteen minutes, which left us muttering “holy shit” over and over and over
"I don't always listen to Led Zeppelin, but when I do, so do my neighbors"
This movie has three of my favorite things: Robert Mitchum, snappy dialog, and the sound of tires squealing on a dirt road
