  The true horror is Sergeant Howie’s Christian tirades and his true lack of respect for police protocols. I can see how this movie is the “Citizen Kane of horror movies”, and the influence it’s had on more recent folk horror films. I think for modern viewers who haven’t seen it there is less dread built up and it can seem a little predictable. But it’s visually stunning and definitely a part of the horror canon to watch if you ever have the inkling. Lots of boobies and butts for your enjoyment as well!
