When I see Andy Kaufman I think of my grandmother.
Maybe it is from watching reruns of Taxi at her house as a child. But that wasn't one of her favorite shows or anything.
I don't actually have any specific memories with her that include anything about Andy Kaufman.
But, I think of her when I see him.
Perhaps seeing him reminds me of childhood and childhood reminds me of her.

I honestly wanted to dislike this as some sort of inside out derivative, but damnit I really dug it.
Perhaps not the best film to go into completely blind to the subject matter. Heavy, heavy stuff. Haunting score. Beautifully shot. Captivating performances.
I can’t believe as a SIX year old I watched (and loved) this as much as I did when it came out.
