My favorite Soderbergh is a while.
A tightly edited movie with an awesome script full of hot people being hot. Exactly what movies should be.
A complete and utter pile of dogshit. I want all the movies in the world to succeed except this one.
It feels like Netflix and the Russos are just training our brains to accept this shit so it’s easier for us to accept AI movies/shows. I’m so fucking angry.
Fuck this movie. Don’t watch it.
This is the most alive of any of the film adaptation of August Wilson plays have felt. Malcolm Washington did show off some great chops to bring some juice to the stage show.
Sadly, I don’t think the story matches. It’s all over the place, and I felt disjointed the longer it went on. Of course there’s an enough incredible talent in front of the camera to make this worth a watch (Danielle Deadwyler once again the true star of the show), but it felt like some meat was left on the bone.
I’m not smart enough for good film criticism on this movie that had whole lot to say. But it sure was real pretty and they all acted well. So there ya go. This movie is realllllll good.
