Watching this film is like going on an anxiety relay race. The characters pass the baton of anxiety from the director/writer to the audience, who have no one else to pass it to and have no choice but to hold it with them the whole time till the failure of the date finally breaks through imagination and releases itself into reality.

Noonan captures the desire for “love” by reproducing the awkwardness of broken human interactions where you have 0% confidence…

Decent documentary production with soft, unwordly-ish, “eye-candy” animations and graphic designs. The storytelling itself is at most 3/5 as it basically feeds the audience with a board of chronologically ordered video snippets. But the charm of the story, despite remain uncharted, oozes it way out of this rather overly-disciplined narratives and somehow manages to resuscitate itself in what it left unsaid. The footages of volcanoes taken by the Kraffts live on their own, and give life to scattered attempts that lend voices to retell the story. Untamed volcanoes devour, untamed volcanologists devour death.

I thought it was Gundam but it’s acc Prometheus + Master + Mob Psycho 100. Thought it was Nolan but it’s Ridley Scott + a splash of Kaufman.

Pleasant to look at, pretentiously rebellious “indie” film for boring people (Soz for being aggressively judgmental)
