Having finally watched "the greatest movie of all time", I can kind of get it. This movie is a pioneer of its time and showed the world what film can do. It pushes the boundaries of what you can say within the medium, not reliant on the story itself but on how it's told. The music, framing, and various other factors are pushed in a way not previously done before.

I love the use of colors to convey emotions throughout the film, such as warm colors to bring a sense of happiness to the scenes. The use of reds, yellows, and greens also makes the occasional blues pop on the screen, which was a really cool effect. I also think the use of virtual effects to illustrate character's imaginations was a really fun touch to add to the aesthetic of the film. I love the use of close-in camera shots…
I love the decision to have the film be in black and white as it really makes you focus on the cinematography and acting of it all. The framing of the shots to set up visual gags or to draw you into the scams that they pull really helps immerse you into the story and the dynamic of the two actors.
