Experiencing a city through the eyes of Paolo Sorrentino is always a mesmerizing experience.
This time the director did not just introduced as to Naples, fascinating and rich of contradictions, he introduced us in his life, his pain and the way it shaped him and turned him into the incredible director he is.
The gaze is central in the whole movie: we see Fabietto’s family, city and life with his own eyes and experience it as if we ourselves were part of it.
The delicate way Wes Anderson manages to deal with introspection and loneliness is incredibly powerful.
It felt like watching a masterpiece for the whole time.
It touched me deep inside.
Thanks Wes, magnificent as always.
