  absolutely stunning film with great direction and some great emotional beats. really enjoyed the science-y aspects though of course it plays with the rules to a fair degree. i think it’s slightly overrated, but it’s a wonderful film don’t get me wrong, i just couldn’t get super invested in the characters, and i didn’t like anything with matt damon in it even though it served some purpose.

  it’s a technical marvel worth most of the hype.

  i usually hate war films but damn. this was phenomenal. crushing with a tinge of hope, but not in a cheesy way. such a brutally realistic depiction of the horrors of war. i love the lack of dialogue and its of course shot beautifully.

  nolan is back with his practical effects, and that is always amazing to see. the acting is also devastating and i think zimmer’s score never really taking the forefront, only being a droning noise, really works here.

  i do appreciate a lot of aspects of this film, but i can’t bring myself to give it a 5/5
