  If you’re considering watching this 
  Just watch the new version 

  This movie exemplifies why a great book will not become a great screenplay if translated beat for beat
  Despite this version  being closer to kings original work which is one of his strongest novels. The changes made in the 2019 Version elevate the “antagonist” to new levels and make for a better overall  film regardless of special effects/production value.

  The Descent 2005

  Proper spooky 

  The descent manages to forego excessive exposition while creating constant tension both through claustrophobic horror and an underlying narrative of grief and loss. Witnessing a group of friends lose aspects of humanity as the atmosphere of the cave drives them apart and pushes them to a physical and psychological limit. The inclusion of the crawlers later in the film serves to heighten the suspense without tarnishing the existing theme. Scary monsters and a strong story are often mutually exclusive, but The Descent balances them perfectly.
