  Certainly not a bad film at all, and for two hours of action escapism you can do worse. It does however lack that secret sauce which made the previous Captain America films - and indeed The Falcon and the Winter Soldier - so special.

  If the original Chicken Run was a love letter to prison escape classics and war period pieces, Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget is an ode to the heist movie with a bit of classic Bond sprinkled in but with the exact same charm, British wit and Aardman heart you grew up with.

  At no point does this feel like a soulless, straight-to-streaming sequel to cash in on nostalgia. Rather, Dawn of the Nugget welcomes a new generation of audiences to these characters and animation powerhouse.

  Very, very clever sci-fi drama that is no doubt going to stay with me for a long time to come. Performances are of course excellent from a top tier trio to bring home a really creative and unique world and message.

  For a debut film, this is exceptional.
