Against my expectations this managed to translate a stage production to film beautifully. The practical sets were gorgeous and the film is beautifully colourful, although not saturated enough. The performances from everyone were great. Nothing to complain about really

Megalopolis 2024
I am not a fan of Coppola, I have watched barely any of his movies, but mad respect for going after his passion project and creating something out of the box, completely unconventional. Two stars for that alone.
That said; every little part of this film is annoying af. I thought that maybe I’ll enjoy the visuals, maybe I’ll find some of the performances funny, maybe the themes will speak to me …but no, I was just annoyed by everything. I almost enjoyed Aubrey Plazas performance somewhat, almost!

I used to watch this as a teen, it seemed to be on TV all the time (actually still is I think, like all the time). It always used to intrigue me, but I never understood the movie or could tell what it was about, I just used to write it off as a badly made 00s scifi schlock.

Nosferatu 2024
The film is shot wonderfully, with great costumes and not terrible acting (tho we could debate that), however ultimately it just falls flat for me.
For the whole 2+ hour runtime I was waiting for it to take me there, to unsettle me, however sadly that did not happen. I was just reminded about other much better Dracula iterations, that I immediately wanted to watch instead of this movie.
