A beautiful little film. At its heart Kairós strikes me as a story about a community being slowly eroded by the "advancement" of society.
There is no single villain, rather we have a collection of outsiders dispassionately doing their jobs. Acting as the hands of a faceless machine that alienates and isolates the characters.

Blue Ruin 2013
Blue Ruin is a beautiful film that blurs the already hazy line between tragedy and comedy. It's incredibly funny, but I don't think it has any jokes. Rather the whole story feels like a cruel joke being played on the characters, a chain of violence as senseless as it is inevitable.
