  I'm sorry, but I was expecting something really beautiful and stuff reading the positive reviews, but the only redeeming quality of this movie is Gheorghe, played by Alec Secăreanu, the rest is just... meh / ew like I was expecting there to be some weird things going on when English people write foreigners but this? One second Gheorghe is called slurs and fights him, the next they're having sex? It just makes no sense and just completely put me off…

  ONE OF MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE SHOWS EVER!!!!!

  This show had me absolutely captivated from the very beginning and I watched the entire 1st season (~8hrs?) in one sitting... The amount of twists, the sheer tragedy and the portrayal of life in Kazan in the 80s makes for a masterful show that makes you completely forget the outside world for a day. The characters were complex and their actors did an amazing job, as well as having some really funny moments…
