I saw this at a Q&A with the the director, after spending the weekend at a Belle & Sebastian festival so I don’t have any anti twee or B&s bias.
This film is unnecessary drama. It feels like a music video that has been forced into a full length film but doesn’t have substance to carry it. It lacks any real plot or character development, and both female leads fell neatly into that manic pixie dream girl written by a man troupe.
The only highlight is the music & the beautiful shots of Glasgow.

A Complete Unknown 2024
One of the best ensemble cast in a long time (but especially Edward Norton as Pete Seeger). Musical performance were out of this world & after everything single one, there was a need to stand up & cheer (which was ignored). After watching the film, I really understood why Dylan has become such a cultural icon.
The only fault with the movie it is just the stereotypical musician biopic that has been around for years. The plot was extremely predictable & despite the amazing acting & cinematography the film felt quite dull in places.Translated from by -

Since Yesterday: The Untold Story of Scotland's Girl Bands 2024
Interesting documentary and was fascinating to see all the talking head interviews.
However it seem fixated on the idea that women & non-binary people can’t succeed in the Scottish music scene. The documentary makes claims on the line about how women lead bands in Scotland are rarely if ever recognised, yet groups like Sacred Paws (who won a SAY award) are missed out.
Another issue is the lack of diversity, every band covered are made up of white women meaning the film doesn’t reflect diversity of Scotland’s music scene.
These two issues makes what should be an entertaining & uplifting documentary into something dull & off putting.Translated from by
