    The way he smiled when she said, “I want to be a bookkeeper. I like working in the shop well enough, but I don’t want to be there forever” 

    This movie didn’t make me feel much. It was underwhelming, although touching, but had a lack of rise and fall and was slow. In that sense, it was more like real life. But falling in love does feel like the movies sometimes, and this didn’t feel like that.

    My biggest takeaway is the commentary on real people in the real world who play the system just like this to become so rich and powerful that they’re immune to the law. Like, the current president.

    The scene where they’re packing the house feels especially scripted and artificial.
