Somewhat dystopian that ads for three different AI chatbots played before my screening of this

Really appreciated that this got weirder and weirder until the weird fell away and it was just… sad.

(Was less appreciative of the almost jarring return to weird in the final scene, but whatever. The shot with the sun rising over the tower of skulls was breathtaking and made me tear up so… worth it.)

This film really is a mess of contradictions: tightly plotted but overlong; deeply incisive about gender but consistently vaguely sexist; interested in class but often unwilling to fully commit to it.

It’s a well made film that I generally enjoyed watching, but it’s all a little weird in a way that sometimes went a bit too far for my tastes.

(I really don’t mean to come across as overly negative. I enjoyed it! These were just my immediate thoughts.)

Idk I was asleep for large chunks of this but if Susie and Axel agreed for once then it was probably good!

Banger movie

A little overlong, formulaic and sentimental, this film’s greatest strength is letting Chalamet’s near-flawless, impressionistic performance and Dylan’s timeless music speak for themselves - because they are (pardon the obvious pun) absolutely electrifying.

I laughed and cried a roughly equal amount, because I have been both of these people at different times in my life. What a great movie
