Only thing keeping this from a 5 star rating is the instant love. I know lesbians move quick but I find it so hard to buy that she’s authentically fallen in love with Luce and isn’t just infatuated/obsessing in a way that will pass quickly! The whole rest of the film is quite realistic in my opinion, so the instant love doesn’t fit with the established reality. Otherwise absolutely adore Hectors storyline and the girlies getting together YAY

I enjoyed this film a lot and have OPINIONS:
1) Loved the motifs: birds, immortality, revolution, knives, fortune and misfortune, fame, worship, but …
2) this film was a lot of style over substance. It felt like they’d pushed so hard on fitting the concept together that the core/heart of it felt a bit thin to me. Like, does she actually break free at the end? Or is she trapped in a reversal of the story…?
