I don’t know.. it just feels a bit hollow. While it may technically hit all the marks of a strong film, the general lack of character depth especially for our protagonist makes the film fall flat. Nothing really clicks together or makes sense. And in my opinion it’s only in the last 10 minutes of film that it actually becomes interesting.

There is so much beautiful unsolved mystery in this movie and I am living for it! Not just wholesome interactions between adorable animals and their chaniging environment, but also characters and their relationships to each other that left me pondering about the deeper meaning of this artwork. It is quite masterful how the animators use body language and non-human vocals to convey life like animals each with distinct personality and goals.
