Why is everyone in this film white? Ngl, I'm struggling to see past it
I actually just didn't get the point of them fighting. It felt like the narrative was heading in an interesting, logical direction and then they ended up in a war over a petty argument? I'm glad they came to some sort of agreement of like 'its us, together, Vs them' in the end but I think could have been far more interesting if they'd agreed that in the beginning, and the storyline moved forward from there rather than them spiralling into a (long) war over nothing. Is there something I'm not getting? Maybe I don't watch enough Marvel stuff.
I. LOVED. THIS. FILM!! My favourite film for a long loooong time, maybe even since - *gasp* - Parasite. The film follows the most wonderfully nonsensical sequence of stories (that I later learned are local folklore, passed on to PTA), super-glued together by Alana Haim's and Cooper Hoffman's electrifying chemistry. Every detail polished, no stone left unturned, a joy to watch. You can tell it's a place and time dear to PTA's heart as it leaves you FEELING warm and fuzzy inside - just the feeling you get after sinking your teeth into the perfect slice of pizza.

The visuals, sound and score of this make this film a real cinematic spectacle but, to me, it felt as long as it was and, quite frankly, the film feels SO centric to TIMOTHEE CHALAMET that it fails to get out into this crazy, mysterious world and take us on a journey.
Not knowing Dune prior to this film, I found the premise incredibly forward-thinking - I mean... an intergalactic war over a fuel (eponymous with a drug on earth…
