  Amy Adams is very convincing as a submissive woman from the 50's who is, more than once, slowly pushed to her limits until she finally stands up for herself. Also, even though Christoph Waltz's character explicitly is a manipulative liar the entire movie, somehow he still manages to surprise me when revealed how big of a fraud he actually is. Finally, Tim Burton leaves a touch of his obsession for bright collors and weird things, which fitted the movie nicely, to my surprise.
