Todd Phillips' Joker is a masterpiece of film that leaves the viewer both disturbed and compelled. While there are some story elements I take issue with, (Mainly from the perspective of a Batman fan) I still greatly appreciate it for putting it's own spin on the character and world. The cinematography is impeccable, and the lighting and score accompany it beautifully. While there definitely are slower moments, it's never to the extent where it takes you out of the story. Overall, I can't recommend this film enough, regardless if you are a fan of the source material or not.

    The Mission

    ★★★★

This film is extremely fun and action packed while still staying grounded and realistic, while also including a lot of deep and artistic elements. While the plot is very engaging and includes some great twists, certain moments can be a little confusing or disorienting, but still cohesive enough to follow.

This movie needs no introduction. Not only did this film have a significant impact on the way people see Batman, but the way people see the super hero genre as a whole. It plays with many great ideas and morals that reflect off of one another's characters, all while providing a thrilling, action packed experience. Performances are legendary, cinematography is impactful, and it sets up a perfect continuation for the final installment. While there are some minor discrepancies at times, (primarily the pacing in the 3rd act), at the end of the day they are hardly noticeable.

A captivating, yet tragic story that shows the importance of brotherhood, sometimes even above one's own family. Beautiful and though provoking cinematography, as well as incredibly believable acting. My only complaints is that the pacing can feel somewhat scattered every so often, and the tone can feel overly melancholy at times.
