Ken Loach is becoming one of my favourite filmmakers. A powerful depiction of the horrors of the Irish war for independence that was intended to covertly criticise Britain’s invasion and occupation of Iraq in 2003. Nobody can make a powerful and heartfelt political statement through cinema quite like Ken. Brilliant.
