  If someone recommends The Truman Show, suggest they see this masterpiece instead.

  I would describe this as an evocation of Plato's cave that explores dystopian Cold War era ideals of monitoring, conformity and the battle to escape forced reality, the irony of which can’t be overlooked by any modern viewer.

  As a younger viewer it seems media from this era has aged amazingly; an unmatched mystique of uncertainty about your theory on what’s happening combined with amazing cinematography, something which I believe is lost in a lot of modern media.
